Multi-grip rivets are designed to cover a wider grip range, making it possible to fasten materials with different total thicknesses using fewer rivet references.
The Bearfix Multifix range includes several head configurations and material combinations, allowing the rivet to be adapted to the geometry, thickness and finish required for each assembly.
Multi-grip rivet range
The Multifix range includes the following configurations:
- MX-AL-TT: dome head.
- MX-AL-TS: countersunk head.
- MX-AL-TL: large flange.
- MX-AL-TXL: extra-large flange.
- MX-AOZ-TT: dome head.
The MX-AL families use aluminium for the rivet body and zinc-plated steel for the mandrel. The MX-AOZ-TT version uses zinc-plated steel for both the rivet body and mandrel.
Characteristics of multi-grip rivets
- Wide grip range.
- Different head configurations.
- Dome, countersunk, large and extra-large flange versions.
- Different diameters and lengths available.
- Aluminium and zinc-plated steel configurations.
MX-AL-TT – Dome head
MX-AL-TT multi-grip rivets have a dome head, an aluminium Mg 2.5 body and a zinc-plated steel mandrel.
They are available in diameters of 3.0, 3.2, 4.0 and 4.8 mm, with different lengths and grip ranges.
MX-AL-TS – Countersunk head
MX-AL-TS rivets are the countersunk version of the MX-AL range.
They are available in diameters of 3.2, 4.0 and 4.8 mm. The countersunk head is suitable for applications where a lower-profile surface finish is required.
MX-AL-TL – Large flange
MX-AL-TL rivets have a large flange that provides a greater bearing surface on the material.
They are available in diameters of 3.2, 4.0 and 4.8 mm.
MX-AL-TXL – Extra-large flange
MX-AL-TXL rivets feature an extra-large flange and are available in 4.8 mm diameter with different lengths and grip ranges.
MX-AOZ-TT – Zinc-plated steel
MX-AOZ-TT multi-grip rivets use zinc-plated steel for both the rivet body and mandrel.
They are available in diameters of 3.2, 4.0 and 4.8 mm.
How to select a multi-grip rivet
When selecting the correct multi-grip rivet, consider:
- Head type.
- Rivet diameter.
- Rivet length.
- Total thickness of the materials to be joined.
- Hole diameter.
- Body and mandrel material.
The wide grip range of Multifix rivets makes them particularly useful when the thickness of the joint may vary between applications.
