Insulation pins, clips and caps for capacitor discharge welding

Insulation pins, clips and caps are essential for fastening insulation by capacitor discharge welding. These systems provide a fast and permanent method of fastening blankets, panels and thermal or acoustic insulation materials to metal surfaces.

Thanks to CD (capacitor discharge) technology, welding takes only 2 or 3 milliseconds, minimising heat-related distortion and making it possible to work on thin sheet metal.

Bearfix offers a wide range of insulation pins, fastening clips and accessories compatible with industrial CD welding systems.

Insulation pins for CD welding

1. Insulation pins for capacitor discharge welding are widely used in air conditioning, HVAC and industrial insulation to fasten insulating blankets and panels efficiently.
2. Several types are available: standard pins (direct fastening to metal), pins with an integral clip (faster installation) and insulated pins with a clip (preventing short circuits in aluminium-faced insulation).
3. Each model meets different assembly, material and insulation requirements, optimising installation safety, strength and speed.

Insulation clips for CD welding

1. Clips (types R and W) fasten insulating blankets to welded pins. Standard metal versions, versions with a protective plastic cap and different diameters (2–5 mm) are available.
2. Silicone caps protect threads and connectors during painting, powder coating or baking processes, withstanding continuous temperatures up to 210 °C and peaks up to 300 °C.
3. Specific clips are available for standard insulation pins, pins with an integral clip and insulated pins, with different chucks depending on the welding gun (PKM‑1B, PIM‑1B, PIM‑1K).

Protective caps for CD welding

1. Silicone caps protect threads and connectors (threaded studs, internal threads, single Faston and double Faston connectors) during painting, powder coating and baking processes.
2. They withstand continuous temperatures of ≤210 °C and peaks of ≤300 °C, are reusable and prevent paint from obstructing critical areas.
3. Four specific types are available: for threaded/unthreaded studs, internal threads, single earth connectors and double earth connectors.
