What are insulation pins and clips?
BEARFIX® insulation pins are fastening elements specifically designed to secure insulation materials such as mineral wool, rock wool and rigid foams to metal structures in industrial construction, shipbuilding, offshore and building applications.
The pins are welded to the base metal by drawn arc stud welding. The insulation is then pushed over the welded pin and retained by the corresponding clips.
Different pin configurations are available: chisel point, ground point, angled and bimetallic versions for aluminium structures.
Main characteristics
- No aluminium ball – no flux required.
- Normally welded without a ceramic ferrule; ferrules can be used for special applications.
- Chisel or ground point to facilitate penetration of the insulation.
- Corrosion-resistant materials including copper-plated steel and stainless steels.
- Retention clips – Type R metal clips and Type W clips with plastic cap.
